Fifteen young competitors have been selected to the USLA U19 National Team to compete at the DHL International Surf Rescue Challenge 2017. The competitors will have a unique opportunity to compete against youth teams from around the world including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, and South Africa. The athletes and their peers will compete over three days starting on November 30, at Mount Maunganui Beach, New Zealand.

The athletes will be led by USLA’s U19 National Team Staff of Manager Gus Avila, Head Coach Casey Graham and Assistant Coach Alan Holt. The United States Lifesaving Association utilizes competition as a means to promote elite fitness levels for lifeguards, promote lifesaving sport and education around the country and offer a select few the opportunity to represent our nation as athletes and ambassadors around the world.
